When I was a kid I had books like how to keep your VW running and how to build a Baja bug ect. When I was 15 my family and I began looking for a car. At the time I worked at the sweptco building across form Dickson street, and a car lot down the road had a white mk3 jetta. I like the look of the car and the way it drove, so I decided that I wanted a VW or at least something from across the pond. A few months passed by and on day I was searching the net when I came across the passat. After that I knew what I wanted. We looked for the car for almost a month and could not find one that was in good shape, until one day on a trip to Rogers, up 71 I saw it. It had everything I wanted, a 1.8t, leather, sunroof and it was silver I test drove it that same day, I can still remember that song that was playing on the radio, Janes addiction - Been caught stealing (it’s funny what you remember is it not). After the test drive I was hooked, we put a deposit down on the car the next day. About a month after buying the car I found clubb5, prior to this I had never really done much in the way of internet forums. But the guys over there were great! Any problem I had the members were happy to help. Some months later, Kyle (blackztsfocus) had been after me for some time to join NAWi, and I just had not done it. When I finally did I met a lot of great people, one of the first I can remember is going up to sears to meet Patrick and Anthony. It took Kyle over a month to convince me to go up and have a look around. But once if found that it wasn’t all a bunch of crazy rednecks, I started hanging out up there more. And now I’m more or less one of the regulars up there. When I go the car it was by no means perfect. It had some engine problems as all cars with 100k miles will. It has only been with the last 4 months that I got the perfect motor I have always wanted. Most of you know my stock motor went around last December. Joe (sleepertec) and the guys at uhaul were nice enough to help me out and get me the build I really wanted. And after a 4 month wait the car is how you see it now. Not done but getting there. Thanks to everyone that voted for me! I look forward to the photo shoots we have planned for later this summer!!! Shoutouts Kyle –for all the rides when my car is broken!
