Marvin Mehn for June, 2004

Hey guys this is Marvin Menh From Team Down-Shift in Rogers/Bentonville,

Thanks for putting my car on this site, but I've got some bad news. I recently got my car stolen in Fayetteville, when I was in class at the U of A. I hope you can write this to let everyone know that there are robbers out there. GET AN ALARM AND SECURITY ON YOUR CAR! NWA has a high rating in car thief now, so watch out! And for those who have stuck by my side and helped me through my loss of my car, thanks guys: Team Down-Shift, Team Speed Dynamics & Team Fused Dimensions. Well guys thanks again for showing my car in your site, ya'll are doing a great job.

Thanks,
Marvin Menh

We've all played the game, know someone who has it. Hell, half of you reading this probably own it. But what you do in this game, is real. It happens everyday in real life. And I suppose you know, it has real consequences. But this is not about the game, GTA. This about the action, Grand Theft Auto, and how its affecting us in NorthWest Arkansas.

Because of the rate of increasing population in NorthWest Arkansas, alot of the mega urban center problems are happening right here where we live. I know what you're thinking, and yes, you're probably right. There are probably plenty of car thefts in smaller townships as well. But do you ever think, "Man, I better not park in Bentonville, someone might steal my car!". Chances are, no, you do not. But to clear some of this up, the car theft rate in NorthWest Arkansas is alarmingly in abundance right now.

The realization of car theft is usually not something you want to face, and it tends not to come to light until it happens to you. By then, it is too late. It sure would seem heartbreaking to spend all of those hours, all of that money, everything sacrificed, for someone to walk up and steal your car. It would almost seem like a piece of your life was gone.. A tiny chunk of the time spent testing and tuning. All of which faint reminders leave a scent of oil on your clothes and grease under your fingernails. But nothing to show of your hard work.

I'm reminded of, "The Golden Rule". That stigmatic array of words, heeding back to my elementary school days. Do unto others, as you'd want done to yourself. Maybe it doesn't sound so bad, afterall. Juvenile as it may sound, these words ring true in the real world, not only in the third-grade hallways.

Grand Theft Auto is real. It has consequences that are real. It affects real people and can change lives. Going into detail about the jailtime that is involved with GTA if you get caught, doesn't matter. It really doesn't. If you can not have respect for your fellow driver enough to not to steal their car, you have no business driving and do not belong in this scene. This scene is about the love of your automobile and the respect that goes to your fellow tuner. A respect for the time and effort put into customizing your ride to make it just that, yours. To be honest, I don't know what could be any simpler.

"...Thanks for helping through this tough process of losing my pride and joy and hard work.. thanks for everything."
